Many possibilities: most common back pain is due to muscle spasm of your back due to abnormal posture ; radiculopathy due to vertebral disc abnormalities can also cause back pain. May need physical exam and back x Ray

Neck or shoulder: The pain could be coming from your neck or your shoulder.  Does changing position help it? Any numbness or tingling in the fingers of that side?

That is somewhat: Dependent on how you are lying down but it may be of a degenerative nature of your spine possibly disc related or to the small joints of your back known as facet joints or even both.  Stretching prior to lying down or even otc meds may help.  Also check the condition and age of your mattress which generally last about 7 years.

You may have abscess: You may a pilonidal abscess or a thrombosed hemorrhoid. If the swellinig is at the rectal opening then it could be blood clot in your hemorrhoid or perianal abscess. You may require drainage of the abscess. If your swelling is over your tailbone it will also need drainage.

HELP: Age?I injury? Gen. Health? Back pain from arthritis to postural to cancer can be worse when lying down as your spine flattens. BUT it is a warning sign if the pain persists for hours.  See a doc urgently.  I need more info to be of greater help.

Side-effects: Muscle aches and pains are a reported side effect of that medication.  Certainly stop using it, and if the effects don't clear within a week, ask your Dr to check for labs..

Very likely you are: Experiencing gastroesophageal reflux disease.  This problem will definitely cause the symptoms you describe.  You should avoid alcohol, coffee and tea (including decaf), and highly seasoned foods.  Lists of foods to avoid are available in the internet.  Then you should be taking one off the many medicines that decrease stomach acid, ranitidine (Zantac), famotidine (Pepcid), pantoprazole (Protonix)
