Likely Hematoma: You may be working out too hard and rupturing your blood vessels into the exercised muscles.  Take it easier, and build up to heavy reps rather than jumping right in.  Now, it is possible that your vessels break easily (are "weak"), or your blood is "thin" (you don't clot normally).  Avoid aspirin, Ibuprofen and anti-inflammatories (unless you get a hematoma, when they are helpful); try vitamin c.

Not to worry: It will either go away, or remain, but in either event: does not seem serious. Superficial vein, not the type that if it does "move somewhere else" would cause problem.

Deep vein thrombosis is a worry, but does not come from these superficial visible subcutaneous veins.

Doctor can evaluate: A knot or lump in the scalp or back of the head may be a lymph node or a skin cyst, among other possibilities. A primary care doctor can evaluate, and refer to an ENT or dermatology specialist if needed. It's very hard to guess exactly what it might be, without the whole story and an exam.

i have swollen veins and small knots on the inside of my right thigh and calf. when i press on them it is a little painful. i am phyisically fit and active. i have not had any exams for several years.

It : It is hard to know what is going on without seeing the bumbs.  I also don't know your age and family history.

It sounds like you are describing varicose veins.  Some of them are small and red.  Others get big and blue.  They can start when you're rather young, but tend to get worse with age.  People with large varicose veins can have tired, sore, swollen legs because the blood is slow to get back to the heart.  They are also at risk of developing clots in the deep veins.

You should start with your primary care physician or a vascular surgeon to see what these really are.

No harm, no worry: Small amounts of air dissolve into the blood very rapidly. Your blood naturally contains lots of dissolved oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide. A teeny bit more won't hurt. You would have to rapidly inject a whole lot of air into a vein do do harm. Don't worry about it.

Swollen muscles: When you workout your muscle your muscles swell a bit and accumulate Lactic Acid . The superficial veins on top of your muscles are drained / drain into deep veins through these muscles. They superficial veins just dont drain  quite as well, and tend to accumulate the Lactic Acid which can cause soreness.  You might try compression sleeves to see if that helps.

Spider Veins: What you describe sounds like spider veins.  These can occur during teenage years and there is a strong genetic relationship with them.  Trauma can also cause this. For now you should just leave them alone and see if they spontaneously resolve. The simplest treatment for them would be either a laser or sclerotherapy.  You should see a vein specialist for an opinion.

how can we treat vein valves which are not working properly?

It depends on ...: Where the vein is. We generally don't treat vein valves in saphenous and varicose veins. Varicose veins are so twisted and enlarge that even if we did fix the valves, it wouldn't do any good. Although there are vein procedures for saphenous valves, it generally works at least as well to perform a thermal, surgical or chemical ablation  of the vein and remove it. Deep vein valve repair can be done.
