Doctor can evaluate: A knot or lump in the scalp or back of the head may be a lymph node or a skin cyst, among other possibilities. A primary care doctor can evaluate, and refer to an ENT or dermatology specialist if needed. It's very hard to guess exactly what it might be, without the whole story and an exam.

Back of head ? vein: It would be unusual to have a vein in the back of your head causing you symptoms. Most likely it is not a vein but probably a lymph node or small cyst. See your medical MD first and he can then refer you , if necessary, to the appropriate physician for treatment.
