No: No such thing as steroids (peds or otherwise) w/o prescription. Beware that use of any steroid (anabolic or anti-inflammatory) needs to be monitored closely for potential side effects. Use of peds in young men like yourself worrisome for infertility, change in mood for worse, hair loss, oily skin, acne, prostate enlargement, gynecomastia, increase risk for stroke & heart attack, all from excess.

Wrong Question: Topical steroids do exist in ointment form but can only be prescribed by an eye md for appropriate indications and if steroids are indicated for ocular inflammation, there is no otc substitute.

100%: It doesn't matter if you get them from a doctor or a guy named Bruno at the gym. Androgen steroids will cause a male's sperm count to go to 0 a 100% of the time.

This occurs because the body stops making hormones if your taking the hormone. This then leads to sperm production to drop to zero.

Hayfever: Acupuncture isn't well studied in the conventional medical world as a treatment for hay fever.  A steroid shot may be part of treatment for hay fever but not to be taken lightly as effectively 3 months of steroids in 1 go with all the risks - diabetes, osteoporosis, etc with longterm  use.  Best to discuss with your GP - may be better alternatives if not they can then arrange a steroid injection.

i have rhinitis and my dr prescribed a steroid spray. is it ok to ween myself off of the spray slowly while using the prescription steroid meds?

3 months: The spray does not work well in an on off fashion. If you wish to use it that way try a nasal antihistamine. Give at least a six week trial of the med for it to reach maximal effectiveness before you wean. Finally when you spray the medication place it in your nose and direct the top towards the side.

i'm taking predsone which is a steroid to help my poison oak clear up, but at the same time i'm on probation and taking two ua 's a week and the last one came up positive for meth. so i guess my question is could the prescription be causing this and why?

No: Taking prednisone will not make your drug screen positive for meth.

In USA yes: Over the counter steroid creams are generally ineffective in treating phimosis. Prescription strength creams are often successful in relieving the condition when applied over a 4-6 week period.
