will i have to take prescription painkillers after tumescent liposuction? does tumescent liposuction cause enough pain that i will need to take prescription pain pills? if so, for how long?

The : The need for pain medication depends on multiple variables... These would include:  the areas for treatment ( some areas are more painful than others), the amount of fat removal ( how agressive), and also the patient's tolerance.  I find that my patients all need some pain medication for a few days, rarely is only tylenol (acetaminophen) adequate alone for this short period of time.  I do not limit patient activity post liposuction, but most patients will self limit vigorous activity for a week or sometimes two.  Again very dependent on areas and amounts of lipo.  You will wear a compression garment for 4-6 weeks post operatievly as well.
