Difficult to say: I have no idea of the size/depth/mechanism of the injury or how it was treated. If you have a small lac that was closed you should be able to get back to your life short of kickboxing. If the wound wasn't closed and you are waiting for secondary healing, it would take weeks to months. Scars take a minimum of 1 year to be in there final state (use sunscreen). If you smoke all will take longer.

Unlikely: These cuts within the vermillion (red) of the lips will heal rather well &amp; seldom leaves a scar. Saliva has an antibacterial effect  &amp; over time it will heal. Any cut that crosses the line into the outside skin would likely leave a scar.

Tincture of time: For small lacerations, healing will occur in 7-10 days on its own.
For larges cuts , you should see a dentist and they will probably place some sutures to close the wound to allow for better healing w/ less scarring.

Not necessarily: Some lip lacerations will result in visible scars and some will not. See a plastic surgeon if the scar is disfiguring or the treatment resulted in a scar.
