See your doctor: Eye (vitreous) floaters are more common as people age, especially in those who are nearsighted. A sudden increase in the number of floaters can reperesent a problem with the retina.  See a doctor if
you experience flashes of light or any vision loss accompanied by eye floaters;
you develop eye floaters after eye surgery or eye trauma; you have eye pain along with eye floaters.

No: Floaters in the vitreous cavity of the eye, although at times annoying, are degenerative changes in the vitreous humor where the collagenous skeleton breaks down and begins to float around in the liquefied gel. These spots(fibrillar, and veil-like) cast shadows on the retina as you move your eye. No treatment exists except when floaters arise from intraocular diseases that require a vitrectomy.

Yes: If there has been a change in your floaters, then an eye exam by an ophthalmologist is advised.

No: Floaters may wax and wane but never go away entirely.

New floaters should prompt you to make an appointment with an ophthalmologist.

Probably OK: If your ophthalmologist (not optometrist) says the eye is fine, then these floaters are probably benign.  But if they  seem to be increasing, perhaps a second opinion with a retinal specialist would be helpful.  Especially if you are a high myope, have a family history of retinal problems or are noticing a change in your vision including light flashes.

sometimes when im just relaxing i see like eye floaters, i thought it was just hair at first but i move my eye around and it moved its only when i look around at times what could it be?

i have noticed an increase in the amount and intensity of "eye floaters", to the point that it is constantly distracting when outside in daylight or working on a computer screen. could this be an issue?

Yes: See an ophthalmologist to rule out bleeding inside the eye.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Not likely: Eye floaters r little pieces of solidified fluid that the eye globe is filled with (vitreous fluid). When they form, they float around and you will only be aware of them when they float in front of that part of the retina (optic nerve) that is the focus of light that allows us to see.  They generally don't go away, and once u know what they are, may not be too bothersome. C eye doc annually.

Time: Most symptoms from floaters will diminish to a tolerable level  with time.  Patients will notice them in certain lighting situations or activities.  Vitrectomy surgery markedly increases the risk of cataract formation and the small but real risk of retinal tear and detachment.  Surgery is only indicated if floaters are severely diminishing your ability to perform activities of daily living.
