Suggesting nerve: Compression. A condition typically described in the foot is Morton neuroma that may involve the hand as well typically involving 2-3 fingers. Talk to your doc about your symptoms.

Numb finger: There are many many causes of a numbness, caused by a nerve being compromised....Pressure from habitually holding an object in one way, or on the nerve farther away, from cysts or spurs. Some disease like diabetes and thyroid disorders can predispose to nerves being injured  the duration depends on the cause.  Consult a neurologist. : It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. If you have fever or similar lesions appear elsewhere. it would be prudent to see a doctor. Wish you good health!

Stained finger: Hi NMejia, the first question to ask is "are you a smoker?" Stained fingers are quite common from holding cigarettes. If you are then this most likely. Other possibilities include callous formation, chemical exposure (cleaning products in particular can be harsh to the skin, certain metals, skin conditions( fungal infections, psoriasis, etc) and nodules.

i have a blue lump 5mm in diameter at the base of my index finger on my left hand i have had it for around a year but just lately seems more prominent?

A couple of thoughts: My first thought is that this is a thrombosis/blood clot in a digital (finger) vein. It may initially have been painful but after a year, the pain is gone and the blue lump remains. It could also be a discolored ganglion cyst or even a skin tumor including melanoma. You could send us a picture for further help, but your best option would be to have a Dermatologist examine you/it. Good wishes:)

See physician: The most likely reason is an injury that occurred in 2011.  You need to see your physician.  He/she can examine the finger, obtain an Xray if need be, and determine if and how the problem can be solved.

Nerve: Check for nerve compression including the wrist and elbow areas.  Consult an orthopedist and get some nerve conduction study done.  This is not my specialty and hope others in HT will comment on this as well.

i've seen this black hyper pigmented spot that's very itchy, on the index finger of my left hand. i've had the same patch on my left foot since i was 8 years old they can be very itchy. now i'm concerned. i do think it's genetic. my dad's got them?

: You should see a dermatologist to find out what these areas are due to. If there is itch associated with them, perhaps they can be treated once a diagnosis is made. So, see a dermatologist for evaluation and treatment. Good luck!
