i'm 8 days past the end of my period. had normal flow for 6 days. now i'm seeing very light brown/tan discharge. not normal for me. what could this be?

Mid cycle spotting: Since you are mid cycle (which is day 14 of the cycle) this could be mid cycle spotting. Sometimes women will spot due to hormone changes of ovulation. Another possibility is your hormones were off some this cycle and so you're spotting. At any rate this is usually not a problem and should resolve on its own. Another possibility is a cervical or vaginal infection. Get checked if it doesn't stop.

i am on sprintec bcp for over a year its 2 days before i start my white pills i have not skipped and i take them relatively on time. i have light pink-tan discharge with light cramps. i started working out a lot and i am sexually active w 1 partner?

: If "relatively on time" for the active component of Sprintec is within the same hour that the previous active pill was taken, you might ask your gyn provider about another type of oral bcp or switch to a straight progestin type.  If the "relatively on time" is a less punctual dose than previously recommended on occasion, breakthrough bleeding ("pink, tan discharge") can occur.

if the day before your period, you have a light brown/tan, gooey discharge, is that normal? is this a sign of pregnancy? i got my period the next day. i want to know if it's possible to be pregnant?

Probably not: It's more likely that the brownish discharge is the first sign that your uterine lining is breaking down and you're about to menstruate.  After you ovulate you have peak progesterone levels for awhile and then if you haven't conceived these levels will drop off.  Once the progesterone level dips below a threshold level, then you start menstruation process.  Less likely to be pregnant.

Premenstrual bleed: Premenstrual staining can often occur with uterine fibroids, (smooth muscle growths of the uterus), implantation bleeding of early pregnancy, ovarian cysts, and premature endometrial breakdown. If it persist see a gyn md to sort out the causes.

i'm 11 weeks pregnant and am having light tan mucus like discharge over past 2 days. no cramping or red blood. normal? have not had sex recently.

Contact OB MD: You need to contact your treating OB MD with this question and be examined. The tan mucous may be a tinge of old blood that can be assessed at the examination as to whether it is of concern or not.

Discharge: Vaginal discharge is the result of secretions produced from small glands in the lining of the vagina and the cervix. All women have a little discharge starting a year or two before puberty and ending after the menopause. The light brown discharge is actually a mixture of blood remains and vaginal discharge.

Day 20: Spotting on day 20 of your cycle could be due to late ovulation, implantation, or something like cervicitis, abnormal cervical cells, or even a polyp. If you fail to have a normal period on time, check a pregnancy test and repeat it in 3-5 days to be sure. If this happens again I'd recommend an exam to be sure what is going on. Hope this helps.

Get it checked : If you have been sexually active then swabs should be taken for infection and a pregnancy test should be done.  Even if not sexually active there are a variety of possibilities and best to consult a doctor to examine and arrange tests as needed
