A member asked:

If the day before your period, you have a light brown/tan, gooey discharge, is that normal? is this a sign of pregnancy? i got my period the next day. i want to know if it's possible to be pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not: It's more likely that the brownish discharge is the first sign that your uterine lining is breaking down and you're about to menstruate. After you ovulate you have peak progesterone levels for awhile and then if you haven't conceived these levels will drop off. Once the progesterone level dips below a threshold level, then you start menstruation process. Less likely to be pregnant.
