Uncomfortable: Night glare from a number of different conditions inside the eye can cause difficulty with vision making driving uncomfortable.  Check with your ophthalmologist to find out the cause of the glare and get it fixed.

No: These symptoms should be evaluated by an ophthalmologist.  They could be due to a need for glasses (or new glasses), a cataract or another problem with the visual system.

Depends on cause: May be as simple as light tinted or glare coated glasses. If dry eyes or cataract are causes, then meds or surgery will be helpful.

Pupil size: Sometimes the pupils will silate at dusk and cause the increasedabberations. The pupil size needs to be compared yb dim light versus room light.

Accepted Answer

Not typically: Older lasik tratments occasionally caused glare and halos at night (although not usually worse than what one would have experienced with contact lenses). Newer treatments significantly decrease the risk of these annoying symptoms. Just remember, lasik is meant to decrease your need for glasses, and may not necessarily decrease the amount of nighttime glare that you experience.

No.: With modern wavefront treatments, haloes and glare are common in the early post procedure period and generally go away.  Usually they are no worse than before lasik and may be some better.

See ophthalmologist: It is impossible to diagnose why you are seeing halos around objects at night without doing a complete eye exam. Could be many reasons such as a refractive error or early cataracts...... Please go see an ophthalmologist for a complete eye exam.

Visit your eye doc: We all experience some vision change with aging, often starting in late 30s to early 40s. For some, this starts very early and there are young children need to wear glasses. Not sure when you had your eyes checked or got new set of lenses, but it sounds like another visit to the eye doc is a good idea at this time. Vision is precious. Protect and preserve it well. night glare with cataract lenses?

Possibly: I assume you mean intraocular lens implants.  If the lenses have not been properly inserted, are multifocal, or if there is a residual refractive error, this may occur, although it is fairly uncommon. Another cause could be opacification of the membrane behind the implant, which can be cleared with the use of a laser.

Rarely: It can go either way.  Most patients notice no change or an improvement.  A few patients notice worsening which usually gets better after a few months.
