Throat: Doesnt sound like allergies. Maybe part of a viral illness which would affect balance as well but this is one of those things you have to check out with a doctor.

See below: The answer depends on what drug they are detoxing off of.  I am assuming you mean off of opioids.  Methadone would be another option.  I have given patients Clonidine patches to help with the side efffects of withdrawl.

Let us help you: While this is not a huge dose of benzodiazepines, taking any psychoactive medicine other than is directed by a physician is unwise and probably illegal. "benzo" withdrawal can be hazardous. Please get with your personal physician; you can trust in confidentiality.

Medication may: have a role in helping you.  Leave that to the prescribing doctor.  If "boiling over" means you are dealing w/anger, please consider psychotherapy or anger management.  Peace and good health.

: If your last dose of the Librium was more than two days ago, it should be reasonably safe to have a couple of beers. Do not overdo it. Good luck.

is a 1mg tablet of ativan (lorazepam) stronger than a 25mg pill of librium?

Probably not: While the benzodiazepine equivalence chart I have indicates 1mg of Ativan (lorazepam) to be equivalent to 10-25 mg, a 2009 study did a head to head comparison in treating alcohol withdrawal with the two drugs. That study found the two medications to be equally effective and the authors compared starting doses of 8 mg/day of Lorazepam to 80 mg/day of librium, as such i would tend to lean to the 10/1 ratio.

hello, i take valium 5mg, 3x a day as prescribed. i am searching for possibly a new benzodiazipine, whats your opinion on an equal dosing of librium?

10x3: You would take 10mg of librium 3x per day.
I would advise of course to check with your doctor first and make sure to understand that long term use of benzo's are generally not recommended except for very rare situations due to side effects.
