"Thinning" of ...: White matter with increased fluid content, which accounts for the t2  hyper intensity.

Most physicians feel this is due to small artery infractions in subcortical white matter.

Although these findings are MRI are age related (more common in the elderly), this process is associated with chronic hypertension.

Risk factors also include heart disease, diabetes and smoking.

Nonspecific: Can indicate many different issues, such as hypertension, smoking, prior head injury, migraine, atherosclerosis.  Yes, leukoariosis is the technical term, but is NOT the etiology. The term might be used with a type of acute leukemia (AMML) or with a more chronic syndrome called CMML (chronic myelomonocytic leukemia).

Other leukemias include cml, aml, all, etc. Cll is often diagnosed by flow cytometry on peripheral blood. Additional studies may include ct scans and bone marrow biopsy. One staging system is rai 0 to iv. Treatment ranges from observation (rai 0-1) to various tx individualized to pt.

They are too differe: There should be no confusion between these two entities. One is a lymphoma(nodal disease) the other one is a blood cancer that should not affect the lymph nodes. Rather easy diagnosis if you are seeing the right type of specialist!
