Most other cancers can't be spotted on the CBC and even in the advanced stages the CBC is often normal.

Depends: It depends on the type of leukemia -- eg AML, ALL, CML, CLL, Hairy cell. In Rai stage 0 CLL there are no symptoms. In many others the symptoms can include fatigue (low RBC), infection (low or abnormal WBC), and bleeding (low platelets). It's like asking "what are the symptoms of cancer?". Not a single answer.
