Too much?: Could be from a few things: trying to / about to get sick; too much physical work (/fatigue); too much emotional work (/stress); too little rest (/sleep); not enough exercise. Unsure?: Leg pain, cramps, creepy-crawly feelings, ever ending need to move the legs, & other lower extremity symptoms are common place and very uncomfortable and disturbing.  Get seen  checked out in general and perhaps have some electrolytes checked (sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium and others.  Most importantly, you may need to see a sleep specialist.  A sleep study may be needed.  Restless legs?

Not usually.: Major age range of legg perthes, idiopathic avascular necrosis, is 3-9yrs with with 4:1 male predominence.Usually the patient is examined every 3 to 6 mo. According to type of treatment, and aggressiveness of disease. Radiographs obtained four phases of disease, #1 increased density of femoral head, possible fx. #2 fragmentation resorption.#3 reossifcation#4 remodeling. Full process can take years.

Many : Many parents are concerned that if their baby stands too early that they can get bowed legs - not true!  babies begin to bear weight with support on their legs between 2-5 months, though they don't begin to stand on their own until 6-9 months.  Many babies have legs that appear bowed just because of the way they were positioned in the mother's utuerus and this goes away by the time the child is 2 years old.  There are a few disorders that cause bowed legs such as vitamin d deficiency, blount's disease, and skeletal dysplasia.  All of these worsen with age instead of improve and have other abnormal signs that a doctor can check.  If you have a specific concern about your child's legs, please discuss it with your child's doctor.

Yes and no: While legg-calve-perthes disease can hurt (especially in the fragmentation phase) the early hallmark is a painless limp. All cases of perthes should be closely monitored by an orthopaedist.

It depends: Legg-Calve-Pethes is a disease of the hip that usually occurs in children. A varus or valgus osteotomy is done by removing a wedge of bone to angle the bone toward or away from the midline. If the LCP caused the leg to be angled a significant amount the osteotomy might better align the weight bearing so as to reduce pain and improve function.
