what is causing my lower leg pain in shin?

See a Doc: You really need to be examined by a doctor to figure out what is causing the pain. Some things that could cause pain in the shin are shin splints which is an irritation of the covering of the bone called the periosteum. Tendon or muscle strains are also a possibility. Need to also look at possible problems with circulation. Sometimes the pain is far away from the source. A doc should figure out.

One has to focus on the area with the most pronounced discomfort which may be your knee with other symptoms being referred from or secondary to the knee disorder. Start with a consultation with an orthopedic specialist who will investigate your knee for any internal derangement. Try taking magnesium and calcium to relieve recurrent muscle cramps

Shin splint?: Can be a chronic and painful condition.C ur pcp or orthopedist for further evaluation.Btw , routine x-rays are normal with this condition.

Shin pain: Shin splints vs stress fracture.  Both can cause pain over the shin and both are caused by repetitive injury.  See u doctor about possible x-Ray

Shin splints: First make sure that your lower leg pain is not really a stress fracture of the tibia bone.  Treatment of medial tibia stress syndrome (shin splint)involves icing up to three times a day, taking some antiinflammatory medication, reducing impact activities, get shock absorbing insoles, reduce your miles running and increase them gradually.

iam having an undescribable pain in shin on both legs, legs feel very tired, what may be the  cause (iam hypertensive )?

Many things: It could be many things. Arthritis or gout or infection are possible. If it is swollen, go to the rheumatologist to get it drained and sent for analysis. If you have fever and it is swollen, you should immediately go to the er to get it drained and be given antibiotics. Also, get an xray to see if it could be rheumatoid arthritis vs. Osteoarthritis. Be seen: It is not really a normal complaint for a three year old to consistently complain of pain in the leg for a year.  So I would certainly take him in for an exam and appropriate studies.

Leg pain : Pain in the back of the lower leg can be from the gastrocnemius muscle. If it is near the heel it may be an Achilles tendon problem. If it's near the calf then it can be from a nerve problem (from the back or proximal to the knee). Your pain can also be from a circulation problem. As you can tell you need to see a doctor in person for a firm answer.

are growing pains real? during teen years severe shin pain just above ankle to mid-shin both legs front only, only at night. so bad at times it hurt to walk. burning ache. quit about age 20. have them again now, sporadically. what could cause this?

: While growing our bones will grow quicker than muscles.  Thus you develop an imbalance requiring stretching of the muscles.   As we get older and more sedentary in life our muscles will become tight thus requiring stretching   Everyone is different in their flexibility. Recommend seeing a physical therapist and develop a plan.
