Pilonidal cyst: Sure, incising tissue can hurt. Depending on how extensive the procedure is, you may have some pain afterwards. However, if significant discomfort is anticipated - the provider can order medication to help with that.

Superfast healing: The real question is what not to do that slows down healing. Avoid using alcohol, peroxide, hibiclens, betadine, and bleach solutions. Inflammation ( red, hot, swollen, tender) is important to healing  so anti-inflammatories (motrin, advil) are bad. Cover the area with a clean dressing changed every other day  and protected from trauma.  Antibiotics do not help healing unless it is truly infected.

i had a cyst lanced 2 days ago, i have had several done in the past. it now looks black, i have never had another one look this. is it normal?

Necrosis/dry blood?: It usually shouldn't be black unless it is dried  up blood which should come off or it could be necrosis or death of the surrounding tissue ..either way follow up with the doctor who did the procedure

Conj cyst: These frequently fill back up if lanced with a needle. Other 2 options: argon laser and full excision (which has best success).

: If it's infected,yes. A pilonidal cyst.can be surgically removed.but not while infected. A general surgeon can evaluate &amp; advise you.

Sebaceous cyst: Please return to your doctor.  Such cysts are often totally removed, sack and all.  That way they do not re-fill.  Your doc may refer you to a specialist to do this.  Peace and good health.  Swimming w/an open/draining wound is not good.  You can get infected.

it is very, very painful to remove packing after having my stomach lanced for an infected cyst. and i generally tolerate pain better than most. help!

Pain: Put ice on area to help numb area before removing packing. Tylenol may help also. Consult with us to get an Rx for Lidocaine gel. If intolerable, see your MD for an injection of anesthesia.

Stop: First, don't try to treat yourself - you could well harm yourself. You may have an enlarged lymph node or a salivary gland nodule. You may just have a lipoma or sebaceous cyst. Regardless, see your doctor , who will refer you on if needed. Again, do not try to lance or otherwise rupture the area. Good luck.

Cysts are common: Cysts are very common, and many people will have them removed by a general surgeon. this is technically very easy and can be done under local anesthesia in the clinic or in the operating room. the most common reason to have one removed is because it is bothersome or causes pain. Healing after surgery usually occurs within 2 to 3 weeks with minimal discomfort or pain.

This needs more: Aggressive treatment with your prior one having a high recurrence rate.  This needs to be fully excised or even better, fully excised and left open to close from the bottom out .Otherwise, this will continue to recur.
