Try lactose free: Colic by definition is unexplained crying for at least 3hrs/day, 3days/wk in the first 3 months. It is common &amp; fades with age. Lactose intolerance produces acid scorching diaper rashes, lots of gas &amp; some overlapping symptoms, but it is 24/7. Colic classically is afternoon/evening. There are lactose free formulas (soy) but breast milk has lactose.

Simple substitution: A lactose free formula is the same formula without the lactose but with a different sugar. It is generally used after a diarrheal illness has injured the intestines & caused a transient loss in the ability to digest  lactose &or in some kids who don't have the proper enzyme to begin with & have excess gas, watery acid stools .It has the same nutrition value & has no side effects i'm aware of.

No: The small amount of lactose used in compounding the tamoxifen should not bother her.
There are no lactose-free medications at all in the United States. It is not a problem due to the small amount in a tablet. 
Dyes in tablets are another issue. Make sure it is the lactose and not dye in the pill that is a concern. Talk to your prescriber they should know about this.

Many baked products use milk as an ingredient, so these too have lactose in addition many medicines contain lactose as well used as a "filler".  Read labels looking for milk as an ingredient.
