In all my: years of practice....(over 50) I have never seen or head of a case of lacrimal duct  tumor.....not to say such doesn't exist... they do( VERY RARE!! )....it is far more likely that blocked lacrimal ducts are STUBBORN...and surgery while helpful a certain % of the time....can "fail"

Not usually: The tear ducts are totally separate so a problem in one will not affect the other. However the underlying cause of a problem in one can cause a problem in the other. For example, age-related stenosis of the lacrimal duct can affect both eyes.

i underwent cataract surgery ang syringing of lacrimal duct,and now i often get small painful nodules on eye lid margins.....what to do?

Likely meibomian: Nodules are likely meibomian glands clogging. Did you see an eyeMD to see if the small nodules are little styes? Best way to help with this is to apply warm compresses/hot compresses to lid margin &amp; use diluted tea tree oil according to directions under "lid hygiene" at eyedoc2020@blogspot.com. Pancreatic duct dila: This can happen in chronic  panceatitis,  or if there is a pancreatic neoplasm ( tumor) . Sometimes there are benign tumors in the duct that can eventually become malignant so it is important to check them out.  Technically gallstones that are stuck at the spincter of Vater causing pancreatitis can result in pancreatic duct dilatation as can inflammation post ERCP.

Widened biliary duct: This term comes from the radiologist and GI doctors who look for a dilated biliary duct as evidence of obstruction or blockage of the biliary duct. The intra- and extra- descriptors just refer to where along the rout of the duct they notice the dilation.

Itchy eye: Try some visine or other antihistamine eye drop.  You can use warm compresses on the eye and if it does not resolve this weekend, see your doctor for an antibiotic drop on Monday.  Tobrex (tobramycin) is a good broad antibiotic drop to use.  good luck and feel better!

Radiologist: In situations like this your physician should sit down with the radiologist who interpreted your study and get an impression of what possibilities the findings suggest and whether further imaging studies or repeat study in the future is recommended. This is truly a matter for a radiological specialist and a referral to a gastroenterologist may be recommended also.

Accepted Answer

Unable to answer: conclusively based on limited information.  If there is ductal enhancement, DCIS is a possibility.  If the ducts are just dilated without enhancement, it is more likely to be benign duct ectasia.

symptoms ongoing acute upper right quadrant pain w/nausea, also left side rib, back , eating seems related.  sono 8mm dilation mrcp also duct dilation?

Abd pain: You might have a  gallstone blocking the common bile duct or have passed on already. You might need to see a gastroenterologist for an ERCP especially if unable to tolerate food. The level of the. Liver function tests and lipase/amylase would help in the diagnosis also.
