Lab results: OK here we go: RBC, HCT look at if you are anemic, u arent. WBC  are the cells that fight infection:U are normal. MCH is a test to evaluate the different types of anemia. Your RBC was good so we dont have to worry about this.The rest are the different kinds of white blood cells that make up the WBC. The values will change if you are fighting an infection or allergies etc.

Pv?: Unclear question.  These appear to be pretty normal depending on the lab, though fasting BS and a1c a tad high and you have low vit D which is also pretty normal in the US. Who ordered the labs?  and why? 
Have you asked that person to interpret?

i have a hgb of 7.9, a hct of 26.5 and a isat of 3...should i be concerned? i am a 38 year old diabetic female.  my dr. is not concerned about my labs.  just wondering...

Each : Each laboratory may have slightly different norms.  Usually a normal hct (hematocrit) level for a women is between about 36 to 48%.  A normal HGB  (hemoglobin) level for a woman is around 12 to 16 g/dl. I do not know what an isat is. It sounds like you are anemic. Your doctor knows you best, so i will not try to provide any medical advice. I hope that this is helpful.

Need evaluation: You should not be worried yet at this time. But, you should definitely talk to your doctor. There are many things that can cause low white blood cell count- from drugs, infection, autoimmune problems, congenital, vitamin deficiency,  malignancy etc. Your doctor should do further evaluation. If needed, your doc can refer you to a hematologist ( blood specialist).

i have been anemic for as long as i can remember but when i had lab work done a couple weeks ago my hct was 45.2 whyat could cause it to be high now?

Hb: The answer would be one of these-- it means you are not anemic anymore- ( which is good)- vs hemoconcentrated ( for instance- dehydration) -vs- lab error vs real elevation of hb
f/u with your doctor and have your CBC repeated to confirm. If your hb is confirmed to be elevated-then further w/u can be done accordingly. D/w your doctor.

my son is 12 months & just got labs showing 74 for lymphocytes, 8.4 for absolute lymphocytes, 44.1-hct & 14.3 hgb. what do you think would cause this?

viral Infection: Possible viral infection will give 74% lymphocyte count.Once infection resolves, might want to repeat to make sure count goes back to normal.Although if he had normal diff. In the past , no need to repeat.

i am currently recovering from septic shock. my current labs are showing that my rbc is 3.54, hemoglobin is 10.6, and hct is 32% are these concerning numbers? theyve dropped since friday?

Accepted Answer

: It is likely you were treated with a lot of IV fluids as part of the treatment for septic shock and this would dilute these lab values. You would need a blood transfusion if your hemoglobin becomes less than 7 or if you become symptomatic of the anemia. The anemia should improve once the fluid intake is normalized.
