Absolutely.: The most common thigh problem is patellofemoral syndrome especially in females.  Usually X-ray may be used to rule out other causes of knee pain.  Physical therapy to help strengthen quadricep muscles is the mainstay of treatment.  Consult your primary doctor or orthopedist for an evaluation if not done already.

i m having a back  knee pain and gets worse when i stand n walk. the pain goes from left lower back to thigh n down to back knee!

Sounds like sciatica: Your description suggests the issue is sciatica. This results from a pinched nerve in the lower back.  Have an orthopedist or rheumatologist evaluate the problem.

Knee Cap: Knee pain is very common. The symptoms you describe on the surface sound like patellofemoral syndrome. This can have many causes. Some if which include improper muscle activation, misalignment of the knee cap, or poor biomechanics. The sharp pain in the thigh is not part of this process. I would recommend evaluation by a sports medicine specialist.

Many possibilities: Knee pain can be caused by many conditions, such as patellofemoral syndrome (pain in the joint between the kneecap and femur), quadriceps tendonitis, patellar tendonitis, bursitis, meniscus (cartilage) problems, etc.  If symptoms persist, you should see a physician for further evaluation.

i have knee pain when weight bearing and then when i take weight off my knee, pain shoots up my thigh. does this sound like a tendon issue?

Not necessarily: Knee joint pat is frequently referred up the thigh. It could be tendinitis but there is no way to tell without an exam. See an orthopedist.

Sciatica: True sciatica is leg pain that shoots from back, down the leg past the knee. This mimics the path of the sciatic nerve, thus it's name. Mri of the spine or pelvis would serve to identify in most cases if exam and history is not clear. Herniated disc at higher level like l2-3 or l3-4, could cause pain to knee. Lower disc problems calf and foot. Nonsurgical for most disc problems. Nsaid's, pt, shots.

Could be a clot: could be a blood clot or a swelling from an insect bite. See your doctor for an evaluation.
