See MD if continues: "tearing" sounds when bending knee could be many things but if it doesn't hurt and it doesn't swell after this episode probably your kneecap' popping'. If it causes symptoms in future or it feels like your kneecap is'slipping' or your knee "locks" then please see your orthopedic surgeon . Best of luck.

my wife's two knees produce some "bone sound" when bending, and she feel some pain after a long walk. what can the cause be?

Many possibilities: Pops or sound in the knees are not necessarily related to a bone problem and sometimes are present in people that do not have a knee problem.  Knee pain after walking cannot be diagnosed without a medical evaluation.  Strengthening of the thigh muscles might help by providing stability to the joint.

i started extreme exercises 3 weeks ago (i'm overweight).last week my knee started making cracking sounds while bending. during a jump today, intense sharp pain in my knee. now,so painful while bending. i can't go sit or stand up without having pain?

Be seen: I applaud your effort to lose weight and exercise.  That being said, you may want to be seen and evaluated just to insure that you did not seriously injure your knee.  Doing exercises that are too “extreme” may lead to injury if you have previously been very sedentary.  Consider working with a trainer to graduallly increase your exercise regimen.

Sprain or meniscus: It could be either. it is important to have an examination by a qualified doctor to help determine what it is. You may need an MRI if it doesn't improve over time.

Yes: If you have constant pain and difficulty bending your knee you should be evaluated by an orthopaedic surgeon. Depending on the pain, the ER may be the best place, but you can also schedule an urgent appointment with an orthopaedic surgeon who can evaluate your injury. If it is not a fracture, you will be sent to the ortho surgeon's office with some pain control. Best to manage that pain.

knee injury. crackly sound when bending and stabbing pain. x-ray was normal. i lost 80 lbs in 8 months was in pt and about to be discharged bc i could walk up to 2 miles and bike up to 4 miles without problems before the injury. dr would not listen?

: I give you a lot of credit for losing weight and trying to better yourself. However you did this in a very short time and you have to be careful about exercising too soon to quickly. Concerning your doctor I would get a second opinion

: See a doc for a proper evaluation. The cited injury and symptoms are not conclusive. This may be a simple self resolving problem (doubt) , one that needs physical therapy or one that needs surgery. Treatment is most often successful early before deterioration of the joint sets in.

Cartilage flap: You are describing an apparently asymptomatic meniscal or cartilage flap. If you develop mechanical symptoms of pain and catching, then you would benefit from a thorough orthopaedic evaluation.
