See MD if continues: "tearing" sounds when bending knee could be many things but if it doesn't hurt and it doesn't swell after this episode probably your kneecap' popping'. If it causes symptoms in future or it feels like your kneecap is'slipping' or your knee "locks" then please see your orthopedic surgeon . Best of luck.
