Ankle swelling: Get back to family doc or your ortho for exam to determine if ankle swelling is due to stress, or a blood clot. The sooner, the better.

i injured my ankle two weeks ago. had it x-rayed and was told their aren't any broken bones but the back of my knee is swollen and painful when sleepi?

Be seen: Probably would be best to be seen.  A bakers cyst is one of the more common causes if swelling in the back of the knee.  But because a blood clot can present in a similar fashion, is more common after injury, and is life threatening; you would be well served to let your doctor know immediately.

Swelling: You probably hyper extended your foot when you fell.  I would be suspicious for tendinitis. However, you could have broken the foot. Can you stand on  it?  Unlikely, but possibility for blood clot

Could be a clot: The symptoms you are giving are often seen with a blood clot . Please get evaluated by a doc sooner thazn later to determine the cause and rule out a blood clot that can be life threatening.

Be seen : If you have been having severe problems since August, I would be seen and probably get an MRI.  It is likely you have an internal derangement if the knee like a meniscal tear.

Could be normal : Because the foot is the lowest part of your body, swelling may persist for weeks after surgery. However, there are a couple of things to be wary of: if there is skin redness, warmth, or tenderness in the area, i would be concerned about infection or a blood clot or both. Elevate the foot as much as you can, especially when you at upright. And make sure you let your surgeon know about the swelling.

Seek medical help: If pain and swelling not resolving should see an orthopedic or family physician to determine strutural damage such as ligament, meniscus or bone. This usually will require imaging, the tests determined by clinical suspicion of the physician.

GET CHECKED OUT!: This is concerning - you had second degree burns and now have complications of decreased range of motion, swelling and pain with weight bearing. While these may all just be results of the burn, it is also possible that there is a secondary infection, and if you ignore this at this point could turn into a disaster. Have it checked out today......

good morning, doctor. i have pain in my right leg, from knee and calf area for a few days, foot is swollen to. the veins became quite visible. is it trombosis please? i did some exercises, the pain is less but still there. what should i do? thank you?

: An exam will be needed as thrombosis cannot be ruled in or out on description only. While typical for thrombosis, pain and swelling are symptoms commonly seen in a variety of other conditions from trauma to infections. Best would be to have your leg examined timely at your doc’s office or a local urgent care.
