my lower left leg and foot swell up during the day. its happed for about a month now. it follow a calf muscle pain that lasted a about 3 weeks, after two long trips in span of a week. what can i do to treat it?

One leg swelling: Sounds like you had Venous thrombosis from the long trip.  I would call your Dr in AM. Check family history of this.  If you are taking female hormones for some reason this can cause blood clots in legs.

pain behind my knee and calf muscle. it 's fine when my leg is bent but once my leg is out straight is when i feel all of the pain in upper calf ?

It sounds: Musculoskeletal but a blood clot, which is a medical emergency , could present like this.Get it checked out.

Possibly: One of the calf muscles, gastronemius, crosses both the ankle as well as the knee.
If the muscle is damaged it can cause you to change your gait/function of the knee which ultimately can cause knee pain. Occasional  the calf muscle tears (strained) close to the back of the knee and can cause "knee" pain directly.

i have recently noticed a dent just below my right knee cap. its is not painful. i am concerned that it may be the sign of something serious. my calf muscle sometimes feels weak. ?

Get it checked: Most probably it is nothing to worrybabout.But since you are concerned and calf muscles feel weak.get it checked by your GP for piece of mind

Lipomas: most likely you are having lipomas, which is a benign fatty tumors. nothing to worry about, unless they becomes painful,pt increased in size. leave them alone, and you should be fine

Bakers cyst: This is most likely a baker's cyst.  This is a pouch of joint fluid collecting behind the knee.  It can occur with most types of arthritis and with repetitive squatting.  The most common cause is osteoarthritis.  There are other more dangerous causes of a lump in this area.  You should see your doctor to get a definite diagnosis.  If you have calf pain and leg swelling go directly to the er.

Injury: Fluid around the knee can be caused from trauma and/or injury.  The calf may pain may be a resultant spasm from the injury.  I would recommend following up with your pcp and/or pain specialist on this.

Trauma?: Was there any trauma or injury to the knee or is this just a sudden onset with no preceding stress of the knee. Always a concern for deep venous thrombosis with severe calf pain. If persists seek further evaluation
