i am suffering from a uti, and 3mm kidney stone that's in my left kidney.platelet count is 527k. hematuria is present. pee test shows pos for uti, xray showed kidney stone. would elevated ast (78) & alt (101) be caused by the uti? ?

: To diagnose UTI you need a positive urine culture. The platelet count and the AST &amp;Alt are not related to it. So pl make sure that test(urine C&amp;S) was done. In the meantime drink plenty of water and if symptoms persist pl see a Urologist.

hello after i passed a kidney stone my platelet was 475 and is that normal for that? my doctor never said anything about just over looked it should i be worried at all?

: Stress from a renal colic may increase platelet count. However, a platelet count of 475K is not grossly abnormal.  There is nothing to concern. Take care.

what does it mean if you are prone to getting kidney stones and have regularly elevated neutrophil counts and elevated c reactive protein?

You might have: a chronic kidney infection, so it is best to have a urologist take a look at your condition.  Chronic kidney infections can lead to kidney failure.

current ra flare, kidney stones&covid past 3wks. i take prednisone, plaquenil arava(new),nsaids, zoloft. cbc yesterday=neutrophils 80% and 8.7k/mm lymphocytes12.4%, platelets 392, mpv 8.5 all else good. feel good but concerned! any input appreciated?

: There is nothing to concern with those numbers.

i might have a kidney stone (painful in rear flank). one of the tests he ordered was anion gap. it came back elevated. should i be concerned?

: How elevated. All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, anion gap is not a relevant test for kidney stone. You may wish to consult a urologist.

50+ days ago went to er w/ kidney stone. cbc showed elevated wbc. er & pcp doctor were not concerned. is this normal? makes me nervous about cancer.

Many things elevate : The white cell count is elevated in response to many things including pain associated with a kidney stone. If the elevation was mild to moderate and the distribution of white cells was the expected distribution, then there is nothing to worry about. If it was severely elevated and with an unusual distribution of the different types of white cells then there is something to worry about.

i have kidney stone and osteoporosis what calcium supplement i s best if any?

two are okay: Calcium citrate and calcium lactate. Both ultimately could increase citrate in urine which is a good thing. But need to have 24 hour urine follow up to make sure calcium excretion in urine is not substantial.

found 5.8mm non obstructing kidney stone incidentally on ultrasound. urologist said it is up to me whether i want to leave it because its not causing issues or have ureteroscopy. is there a benefit to having it removed?

: If the stone is successfully removed, you can avoid complications even stone doesn't move or when it moves down then it is stuck because the stone is bigger than 5 mm. However, the retrograde approach (ureteroscopy) for stone removal isn't simple and not always successful which depends on the stone location and urologist's expertise. Leave it for now if stone is in the low pole &amp; asymptomatic.

i have a kidney stone. it was initially up towards the kidney and has since travelled down closer to the bladder. is it likely to get to the bladder if its already travelled this far? just time and water?

: That is very possible. No accurate prediction can be made without knoing the size of the stone. But with your description chances of passing it are very high. Good luck and use a strainer when you pee so that you can catch the stone and have it analyzed

27 year old female. i have pain in my lower left back hurts when i move a certain way came outta no where today. its my very lower back before my butt and into my side a little could it be a kidney stone? or more like a pulled muscle?

: It would be too low for a kidney stone and is more likely related to the musculoskeletal system as it gets worse with movement. Treat symptomatically with rest, moist heat or cold packs and Tylenol or Ibuprofen. If the pain is not resolving or gets worse, follow up with your family physician.
