with abnormal heart rhythms what are my treatment options?

Hard to answer: There are hundreds if not thousands of abnormal heart rhythms.  Rapid heart types are usually called tachycardias and slow heart types are called bradycardias.  There is a lot of variability in between.  Your pcp is a great place to start and depending on what they say, may refer you to a cardiologist or other heart specialist.

: That would be the treatment your doctor decides after a full review of your case, tests, medications and other factors. There is no all-in-one treatment for the many forma of rhythm abnormalities.

i was diagnosed with aivr in jan 2020. they said it was benign. now i am having more palpitations and my rhythm is occurring way more frequently. at what point is treatment needed?what is the treatment? i see cardiology.waiting for results of monitor?

: It depends on how fast the rhythm is and what your symptoms are as well as how long it lasts and what your blood pressure is doing during the abnormal rhythm whether treatment is needed. The initial treatment would be medications to keep your heart rate slower, as long as your blood pressure is able to tolerate the medicine. Some medicines for heart rate also affect blood pressure and others don’t

i have aivr arrhythmia. recently i have more palpitations and have been sustaining the rhythm for up to 3 minutes. it comes and goes all the time but very frequently per my apple watch ecg. i know its benign but when do i need treatment. what is it?

Work up : I am assuming you were treated with PEG INF and ribavarin combo. At age 26 having a septal infacrt is very rare. Suspect the EKG needs to be repeated and if shows the same changes then seeing a heart doc would be an option. Heart disease in your age and gender is almost unheard of. Best of luck.

A Fib Rx: The only one who can answer if this Rx is "good" for your father is his local team who knows him best. There are just too many issues related to his problem that we do not know.  So go talk to them with him.

None.: There is nothing abnormal about a resting heart rate of 49/minute when one is lying supine.  One with your history should exercise regularly, keep yourself well hydrated and treat only  symptoms which might be related to your "pots".

Some, plus drugs: Depending on the cause & severity of the arrhythmia, relaxation techniques (medication, yoga, tai-chi) may be useful.  Some anti-anxiety medications can be helpful as well.  Beta-blockers are often used.  Serious anti-arrhythmic agents are available, but some rhythm problems, especially in younger patients, may be amenable to electrophysiologic rx, like ablation, rather than lifelong drug therapy.

Several: Ed is treated depending on the cause, for example, if your testosterone is low, than replacing testosterone (there are rx creams) will help.  If it is generalized ed from "aging" with underlying hypertension or diabetes, the rx meds can be very beneficial (viagra, levitra, (vardenafil) cialis). If needed, there are also surgical options available.  Discuss with your dr for the best option for you.
