Candida vs STD: If it is a Candida infection, it can be treated with over the counter preparation containing miconazole or clotrimazole. If you have recently had unprotected sex with a new partner, it may be an STD, which will need a visit to the Dr and a prescription for treatment.

Thigh irritation: I suspect skin irritation of your thighs may be related to such things as continual friction and/or sweating and?Yeast infection Perhaps wearing tight jeans plays a role,also. Avoid tight clothing, keep the thighs clean and dry once the rash clears. In the meantime try applying an antiyeast anti-inflammatory ointment like mycolog. If no improvement, consult a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatm

Possible Fungus: Fungus grows more with heat and sweat.  This should be scraped and tested by a Dermatologist, to see if it is a fungal infection, psoriasis, or Seborrheic Dermatitis, all which can look similar, in the groin. You may wish to try first over the counter Clotrimazole Cream, twice a day, 2 weeks, to kill fungus. Using an anti-fungal powder through the summer may prevent recurrences.

Jock itch: Sounds more like a tinea infection. U should keep the area clean and dry. Don't rub or scratch as it makes the rash worse. Heat n sweat r not good. Otc anti fungal powder/ cream can be tried.

Depends : Bright red plaques that are moist itchy and odorous on groin can be candida.  If pustules around hair follicle, may be folliculitis or scabies. Better to have doc look at it because there are many things it could be.

Rashes: Rashes are often difficult to identify...Needs to be seen and a good history and physical needs to be accomplished...Best to see your family doc or a dermatologist...

This : This is unlikely shingles since the rash itself has lasted months. Perhaps it is a fungal infection or folliculitis or eczema or psoriasis?  I would recommend you see a dermatologist and get an accurate diagnosis so you can start good treatment to help your symptoms.  It is quite common to have these conditions in that location. I hope that helps a little.

Rash: Although a friction rash from upper thighs rubbing together might have this appearance, it shouldn't itch.  Recommend assessment and you may have an infection that requires treatment.

Usually...: ...It looks like a reddish scaly eruption, spreading outward from the groin area, with a distinct border at the furthest edge. Other things can cause a rash on the thigh, however; if one of the over-the-counter jock itch creams does not resolve it promptly, see a dermatologist.
