are lupus, endometriosis, and pots connected? i was diagnosed with all 3 and dont think its a coincidence. there hass to be an underlying autoimmune issue?

: New evidence from a study in Canada strongly suggests that POTS is an autoimmune disorder. In your case I think it would be secondary to lupus. Endometriosis is not currently listed as an autoimmune disorder but has some of the characteristics and may increase the risk if a coexistent autoimmune disease. Does your rheumatologist agree with these concepts or explanations?

son hospitalized w bad case ofcovid-19. he hass viral pneumonia & they're throwing everything at him to get him well. they just gave him medicine manacloria. they said that usually given outpatient; got approval 2 use inpatient. will this help?

: Monoclonal antibodies have been useful in decreasing the severity of COVID-19 in all variants until now (with the omicron). Only 1 of the 3 monoclonals works against that variant. Hopefully they are trying that one. Having said that, it sounds as if being monitored in the hospital &amp; having every potential treatment tried (including dexamethasone &amp; monoclonals) is the best treatment for your son.

Need to be checked: You need a thorogh gynecological exam to find the cause and foul odor may suggest an infectious process.

Jet lag remedy: Jet lag is a disruption of circadian rhythm caused by traveling to different time zones.  Basically adaption to the the local cycles of light and nutrition are the most effective means to adjust.  If possible, a day or so before traveling, begin to change sleeping and eating times to those of the destination.  Fasting for about 16 hours during travel and exposure to light also attenuates effects.

Size: You are now 18 and I would suspect some of this is normal growth.  Do you feel you have more hanging over your waistline?  Body mass index is weight divided by height squared.  You can go to multiple web sites to figure yours out and find out if your 
BMI is out of range.

Accepted Answer

Try allowing your: Body to at least partially accommodate to the new time before you travel.  If heading east, try getting up 30 minutes earlier for several days and going to bed earlier.  Melatonin may help. If heading west, reverse the process.

Trauma: Trauma to the abdomen of a pregnant patient can cause abruptio placenta, uterine contractions, preterm birth, vaginal bleeding and even fetal death. See your obgyn asap.

: If these episodes continue to occur,I recommend consulting a pediatric neurologist for evaluation and advice. Concern would be presence of partial seizure disorder.

: Your primary care doc would be best to start with as having access to your current medical records and being able to relate your symptoms to any of your existing conditions, if any. Hypnic jerks are suggested by your description and if a specialist, such as a neurologist is needed, your doc will be able to coordinate locally.

my 15year old has started having rapid blinking that causes his head to have a jerking motion what can this be?

This could be due to a number of causes, including tourette's  syndrome. Make an appointment for your son with a neurologist to get it evaluated.
