i have an itchy rash all over...back, arms, chest, stomach. in the past week i have had a heart catheterization and also a blood transfusion. the itch is making me crazy. do you know the cause?

: All of the above and more may contribute to the rash. Definitely worth informing your treating docs as work up will be needed. The rash can be due to underlying conditions and precipitated by above procedures.

See your physician: Feeling your heart beat, if it is not irregular, is generally due t o anxiety.  Gastroenteritis, especially when you go away on vacation, suggests an infection with a bacteria or parasite (and sometimes a viral infection) that you acquired in Ibiza  You need to see your physician, who can do testing to find the cause and the proper treatment.

Secondary infection.: Viral respiratory infections produce a lot of mucus, which is a magnet for germs. This is why you may have a secondary infection with a bacteria, later in the course of the virus. Also, OTC cough &amp; cold meds prolong symptoms &amp; may increase chance of secondary bacterial infections.  Get checked, you may now need antibiotics. Fragrances &amp; aerosols are as bad as second-hand smoke, stop them when sick

Stop echinacea! Try:: It sounds like you are allergic to echinacea- this is uncommon but possible. Stop it now. Echinacea is not even known to help candida!

Hives: 49 M from MD notes 1.5 wk lip numb different spots with hives and welt sometimes with palpitations.? ANS: Not certain what the question is but sounds like you are having an allergic reaction to something. If you are taking a BP med that is an ACE inhibitor this would be my first suspect. New pet, new job?  Seeing a Dr. in AM would be good. Unless you know what is causing it.

: Please see urgent care. You may be experiencing an asthma attack or an allergic reaction.  You may need a course of steroids. Discuss possible triggers such as new exposures to an inhaled or an ingested trigger. Blood and imaging testing may include an eosinophil count, WBC and differential count and chest x ray. Watch for signs of shortness of breath, cough and wheezing.
