: Swelling and itching of hands warrant an urgent visit to a dermatologist, an Urgent Care facility, one's physician, or a hospital Emergency Department.  The task is to determine the underlying cause of these symptoms.  Causes include contact substances inciting an allergic skin response, a systemic allergy to some ingested substance, a food allergy, a systemic disease, or some other cause.

Itches: Not usually. Using pain medications for an itch may blunt the itch feeling but you will still itch. You have to find out why you have the itch. Topical creams may help.

good morning i have small glands forming on my right finger it havent affected my writing yet but it itches and sometimes pain.is there perhaps a medication i can purchase to stop the glands from forming?

Nodes: If these knob like structures are located on either side of the joint just under the fingernail, these are probably Heberden's nodes which are tiny bony spurs indicative of( wear and tear) osteoarthritis of that joint. These tend to run in families. An anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen or naproxen may reduce pain in the affected joint. These nodes may form on other fingers in the future

Scratch it (Joke!): Not sure what causes it but it could be stress or allergy related, eczema etc. Otc Benadryl (diphenhydramine) (may cause drowsiness), topical calamine or caladryl cream may help. Follow up with ur dr for any concern. Best wishes!

Pinworms: are common intestinal parasites which cause rectal itching, especially at night.  Young children and their household members are at risk for pinworm infections.  The pinworms can often be seen in the rectal area during the night with a flashlight.  A stool test for ova &amp; parasites (O&amp;P) can help correctly diagnose and guide treatment of intestinal parasites.

Varicose vein?: You will need to see a doctor for an exam to determine the cause. It sounds like it might be a varicose vein though. People think of these as only happening on the legs. The labia is actually a common spot for them. See a doctor and try not to mash on it.

: Sometimes, people will get histamine release with vigorous exercise, which can cause the skin to itch.  Try an over-the-counter antihistamine.  If this doesn't work, you should really see your primary doctor and have an evaluation done.  Best of luck.

: If you are sexually active there is concern for a sexually transmitted infection &amp; you should see a Dr for evaluation &amp; testing.  However in the meantime you can try a combination of over the counter hydrocortisone 1% cream (for itching) &amp; clotrimazole (for possible fungal infection) &amp; see if helps.
