By the time the KF  ring appears in the eye, the person with Wilson's is obviously sick -- at least with elevated liver enzymes and probably glucose in the urine. Coloboma?: Everybody's irises are made of fibers. A big split may be a coloboma. Read up and see if this is what you're describing.

Occasionally: Infants have brownish grey irises until they develop their adult color.  Some adults have a color sort of purple grey which some can interpret as greyish.  
There is no true grey color if you look closely.  The color of the iris also depends on the light source and the color of the skin and makeup around the eyes.
