i have had a high pth and a high tsh. how can this be?

: PTH is a product of parathyroid gland, and depending on the level you may need investigation for parathyroid adenoma. TSH is a product of the pituitary gland and will be elevated if your thyroid is under-functioning. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests as all laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position

i have 210 pth 10.6 calcium ... 3 mos ago calcium was 11.2-and tsh 3.511 - since i have taken 25 mcg levothyroxine. is it possible these tests r off ?

Two different issues: The levothyroxine is for thyroid hormone replacement. It will not affect your PTH and calcium levels which are regulated by the parathyroid gland. The levels that get my attention are the elevated calcium and very elevated PTH level. This needs further evaluation.

if tsh, ft4 and ft3 and pth were tested and all came back normal but "ft3" only was abnormal/high, what would be the likely causes? and what's the next step after this blood work result?

: If a repeat T3 is still elevated, you may have a high TBG level or early hyperthyroidism. A thyroidologist or endocrinologist can advise you best.

Abbreviations: Pth-parathyroid hormone
tsh- thyroid stimulating hormone
t3 - triiodothyronine
t4 - thyroxine.

calcium 2.38mmol/l, tsh 13.5mu/l, pth 4.6 pmol/l. i have hashimotos and 2 thyroid nodules less than 1cm. what does this mean?

Various: You have various problems. Your thyroid level is low and needs to be treated with brand name T4 replacement. The nodules depend upon what they look like on ultrasound and other thyroid blood tests. May beed biopsy. Calcium is normal. Don't know the normals for PTH in pmol/l-also varies with type of PTH assay. Talk w/your doctor.

i have symptoms of hypothyroidism, tsh has been 3.92, 3.21 and  1.03 respectively .low vitamin d, calitirol 48.6, and pth of 91.6 . what is going on?

Labs: Your thyroid test looks normal, but your parathyroid test looks high.  I would see an endocrinologist to go over those lab values.

Calcium PTH, Thyroid: Confirmed hypothyroidism s a clear message that the TSH is working hard to increase thyroid hormone but without success.
Treatment will have to be with thyroid hormone taken by mouth.
Unlikely, but the surgeon might want to remove your thyroid gland since it is not working properly.

Typo?: I think you meant to type calcium of 12.13?  Your PTH is high which would mean you have hyperparathyroidism and then will have high blood calcium levels.  Hyperparathyroidism should be treated (typically with surgery), the thyroid numbers are only slightly off, Iwould just recheck the tsp and add a free t4.  See an endocrinologist for your issue.

what causes high tsh 7.0 (although normal t3, (liothyronine)t4,pth) and low cortisol (1.0)? im being referred to an endo. im worried.

No worry: In early stages of hypothyroidism TSH is high when T3 (liothyronine) T4 may still be normal. Hypothyroidism is quite common and is easily treatable with an oral medication. However, you must follow your doctor's advice for additional tests and treatments.

Second opinion: You do not say what the Ca level was. Your PTH is normal. If your doctor finds you untrustworthy then perhaps you have done something to precipitate their suspicion, in which case finding another doctor and being re-evaluated is the best option. Good luck.
