Chemotherapy or ...: It depends on the type of leukemia.  Some leukemias can be cured with chemotherapy..  Some types of leukemia can only be cured with a stem cell transplant.

Probably none: Green tea has been studied in chronic lymphocytic leukemia but is by no means a cure.  Only acute leukemias have a chance of cure and this is with chemotherapy.  We have to stick with treatment that has been academically studied so if someone is telling you that certain foods can cure cancer, you need to walk out the door.  That is in my opinion unethical. Absolutely: The rate of cure depends on the type of leukemia.  Remission, which is the initial disappearance of the leuekemia, is easy to accomplish than cure.  Cure is usually on mentioned 2 years after the treatment is complete, .  Some of the best success in pediatric cancer in general, has been the cure rates of acute lymphoblastic leukemia.  We expected cure in this disease 85% of the time.

Yes, possible: Yes. Will depend on the age, other treament/bmt?- that affect fertility. Fertility can be affected in about +/- 50%- with certain chemotherapy for leukemia.It is important to talk about fertility prior to starting chemotherapy and have something done like- spermcryopreservation etc- if time allows. Many times- there is not enough time to do those as treatment for leukemia has to be started asap.

Yes, for sure: A fairly large proportion of patients can be cured from their leukemia with the use of modern chemotherapy. But the cure rate depends and varies on the type of leukemia and the age of the patient. Younger patients are cured about 80% of the time; adults: 30-40% but older folks(over 60 years of age) have a poor outcome even with the modern treatments.

Many drugs available: There are several different types of leukemias which can be either Acute or chronic. So you need to understand at least 4 of these different diseases before you can understand which anti-leukemia drug is of interest to you...there are at least 20 different drugs in use to treat different leukemias...some of them can cure leukemia...yes indeed!

It depends: Chronic leukemia as it name implies can be a slowly progressive disease and might be present for years until picked up by routine tests or the disease starts picking up in aggressiveness. Cll is a wide spectrum from nothing to very aggressive chemotherapy. The acute leukemias all and AML are managed with multi-agent chemo, and typically on an aggressive schedule.
