It would also be reasonable to ask your doctor to write a note that excuses you from doing that particular job that exposes you to alcohol.

Maybe: Antenatal alcohol exposure can lead to a developmentally delayed or disabled child. Alcohol can cause fetal alcohol syndrome, which can injure many organ systems & may affect the person for a lifetime. Antenatal alcohol exposure increases risk for adhd, & other neurologic conditions that predispose to alcoholism in later life. Doctors rightly advise against alcohol consumption during pregnancy.

Shouldn't: As a general rule no liquid/lotion/ointment you put on your skin has anything absorbed to a degree it would enter the blood. If it doesn't enter the blood it can't get to baby. Rubbing alcohol is a drying agent and I can't see how it would benefit anyone with acne. Some use it as a mild cleanser &amp; then moisturize.

Chemicals/pregnant: Air out the room or go into another room,a single episode for a short period should not  be an issue. For the future get some N-99 particle masks at home depot  and ventilate to room (open window,fan)  or have someone else do this if occurs regularly ( hopefully it will not happen again-) . Don't worry.

Ineffective: This will not help the itching or rash, and it is likely to cause a lot of pain. Poison ivy reactions are to the oil of the plant's leaves. A few products, like Zanfel, claim to bind the oil. It's not absorbed internally, so it's likely safe in pregnancy. Topical steroids can help too, without harming the baby. See a doctor for evaluation and a prescription. But please don't use the alcohol.
