Ineffective: This will not help the itching or rash, and it is likely to cause a lot of pain. Poison ivy reactions are to the oil of the plant's leaves. A few products, like Zanfel, claim to bind the oil. It's not absorbed internally, so it's likely safe in pregnancy. Topical steroids can help too, without harming the baby. See a doctor for evaluation and a prescription. But please don't use the alcohol.
