Left foot/toes: numbness with pain is not normal. Did you do any activities on it or injured it? Are you on your feet a lot in shoes all day? Are shoes tight? You may have a pinched nerve in the foot. I would suggest you see a podiatrist who can examine your foot and offer treatment options.

Systemic symptoms: The normal EMG may have ruled out a primary neuromuscular problem, but a vasculitis, neurological, or autoimmune disorder could be in play. Other causes could be endocrine (including diabetes), or even a panic disorder. I would suggest a thorough work up by your pediatrician or other primary care provider.

is it normal to get dizzy 24/7 i have really bad health anxiety right now im on a brain tumor trap i get random pains, twitches,tingling, numbness,my head hurts when i bend down. could this be brain tumor or am i just really paranoid?

: Have you discussed these symptoms with your primary care provider? Dizziness can be a symptom of an underlying condition and it needs to be explored further. when i lay on stomach with arm straight up above head for couple minutes neck hurts& fingers start tingling & go completely numb &pain in neck gets worse. could that mean a trapped nerve in neck? same issues in hand randomly but nerve tests normal?

: NOT In the NECK.  You most likely have a problem in the shoulder involving the brachial plexus and may indeed have thoracic outlet syndrome.  See a vascular or thoracic surgeon, and get this further evaluated.

Low libido: If you have not yet had your gonads examined and evaluated you must see your doctor soon. Healthy at 19 but with low libido requires careful examination.

1 to 6 hours: It all depends on the type of anesthetic used by your dentist.

Yes: It is not uncommon for a dislocated shoulder to be asssociated with nerve injury.  This can be either numbness or even muscle paralysis.  The good news is that in most all of the cases this is temporary.

is it normal to feel numbness on 1 side of your body after microdiskectomy?

Accepted Answer

Possibly: Surgery requires some movement of the nerve and this can cause some numbness in the nerve afterward. This should improve over the first 4-6 weeks after the surgery. If the surgery was a neck or cervical surgery, there may be some spinal cord swelling that needs to resolve. This numbness should improve but may linger to a small degree in the future.
