i have gastritis, i t0ok antacid (kremil-s) and stil hurts. how much time do i have to wait to take my prescribed ppi (prevacid (lansoprazole) fdt) ?

No waiting: The ppi takes a week or two to build up in your system and work effectively. It won't work immediately like an an-acid does. Try a different an-acid like Pepcid ac or Zantac until the Protonix (pantoprazole) kicks is.

recovering from virus, used advil, (ibuprofen) sudafed nyquil.  now have bad acid reflux with gagging.  on prevacid/antacids but still gagging.  diet?  drugs?

Gagging: You should see a gastroenterologist and probably get an upper endoscopy to see what is wrong with your stomach or esophagus.

Wait an hour or so: Prevacid (lansoprazole) needs acid stimulus about an hour after ingestion to best be activated. A meal would be the ideal. Take the Tums after that.

Yes: These two together can effectively provide short and longer time relief of stomach acidity and gerd.  They do not interfere with the activity of each other.

what can be prescribed if you have low acid in your stomach but are having silent gerd issues? prevacid made me feel like my whole stomach was burning/gave more issues vs helping. also, tums, mylanta don't seem to help either?

: Your statement is not clear (low acid in stomach) and I am not sure you truly have GERD (silent GERD issues).
You do not need antacid medication(s) if stomach acid is low.
If you have confirmed GERD, have you tried antireflux measures: raise the head of your bed with 2 bricks, do not lay down within 2 hours after meal and avoid the foods which aggravate the symptoms.

hi..i've been very bad acid reflux..constant chronic coughing and throwing up phlegm..tums does not seem to be helping..is prevacid advisable? and have i made a mistake in taking tums as that seems to be category c? i am in my 10th week of pregnancy. than

Many things: Tums, rolaids, and maalox are all good when you have the symptoms. Zantac, nexium, (esomeprazole) omeprazole, prevacid, Prilosec are all good options to prevent daily occurrences. Those must be taken daily to prevent the symptoms.These are all commonly used in pregnancy

why do none of the heartburn/reflux medications ever work? ive taken prilosec, protonix, prevacid, pepcid, tums &now im on nexium. i took 40mg before i ate breakfast & 20mg pepcid before i ate dinner. im still constantly getting heartburn & reflux?

There are many: You can choose a similar ppi like prilosec(omeprazole) and that should work well. If you want something less costly, try using zantac (ranitidine) or Pepcid but you may have to take it twice daily as the effect only lasts about 12 hours.

i'm taking lansoprazole 30 mg  a day is it safe to take over-the-counter antacids at the same time something like tums (calcium carbonate)?

Yes : It is ok to take additional antacid medication however i would let your doctor know that the prescription strength medicine is not working completely.
