Not recommended: Using dextromethorphan (active ingredient in benylin) together with alcohol can increase nervous system side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience impairment in thinking and judgment. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol.  Don't risk hurting yourself, or others.  Good health!

having body aches and chills and headache foe 2 days.  no fever.  been taking advil, nasal decongestant and mucinex but only giving temporary relief.  been drinking fluids.  what else should i try?

Keep same: Sounds like viral infection - " Flu like symptom". it  usually takes 7 days and testament is exactly as you do - symptomatic relive - fluids, rest, vapor inhalation, saline nasal rinse , soup,... and all " your mom recipes " If congested. Ibuprofen or Tylenol for pain and headache. If you develop more severe symptom  as fever  or severe headache, cough and trouble to breath - see your MD.

my throat hurts one side, my nose is congested and i feel like i can't breathe when i'm drinking or trying to sleep, no saline or decongestant working?

INS: Still sounds like a viral infection ... But you can ease the symptoms a bit by adding an intranasal spray (Nasacort) and Chloraseptic Max cough drops (they have benzocaine which numbs the throat).  Hope that helps &amp; feel better!

i took 20 mg vyvanse this morning and this evening took my klonopin 1 mg also 2 decongestant pills the little red ones is that ok?

: The amphetamine part of Vyvanse takes over 30 hours to clear your system. Assuming the red decongestant pill is Sudafed, if taken together with Vyvanse, it may increase adverse side effects associated with Vyvanse (such as high heart rate, blood pressure). There is no drug interaction with your Klonopin

i have a sinus infection. been taking an antihistamine and decongestant. why does my nose feel like i sore red cheyenne pepper? what can i do to stop

You may : Need topical antibiotics eg neosporin ointment or Bacitracin and apply to the sores in your nose three times a day for about 5-7 days. This should heal up the wound / sores inside your nose and feel good as new! if no better, schedule  to see your doctor or ear, nose throat specialist

i've been experiencing ear pain for almost a week now. started with vertigo, then lightheaded/dizziness, then ears feeling blocked/clogged, ear sensitivity to loud noises. visited doc. and was told it was swollen and red. told to take decongestants?

Decongestants: Decongestants will only shrink swollen nasal membranes but if the ear canal is reddened  and swollen or the ear drum is inflamed, other treatments like ear drops containing antibacterial, antifungal &amp; anti-inflammatory agents or oral antibiotics to treat infected ear drum are needed. I recommend consulting an Otolaryngologist for accurate diagnosis &amp; appropriate treatment.

was it safe for me to drink caffeine from about 16 years of age heavily like espressos and coffee and red bull to now im 21 i know online they said it stunts brain development . so have i done some damage?
