The DOT Guidelines: Allow a 1 year card for asymptomatic AAA over 4 but less than 5cm but only with clearance from cardiovascular surgeon.   If you have no symptoms and a clearance statement from a cardiovascular surgeon and no other disqualifying conditions then you should be certified for a maximum of 1 year.

Yes: If the reason you are getting the ct of the abdomen is to rule out an abdominal aortic aneurysm then i would proceed to the table.  The benefit of documenting the anatomy and determining treatment far out ways the risk of the ct.

Depends: What part of your aorta? What size? Do you have Marfan's, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, annulo-aortic ectasia, or family hx of aortic aneurysm or sudden or unexpected death?

Aneurysm: You want to prevent the blood pressure rise that comes with straining against weight. Probably ten pounds would be ok.

congenital and familial syndromes and collagen diseases marfan, ehlers danlos
