on xarelto for 3 mths, chemo for idc bc ... just started period (1st since apr). large blood clots are present, wouldn't the xarelto prevent this?

i have a colonoscopy &endoscopy scheduled for thursday . i have been taking xarelto since mid march of this year for 2 tiny blood clots found in lower right leg they told me to stop taking the xarelto 2 days before ! is this safe for the procedures ?

: It's certainly safe to stop any blood thinners before a colonoscopy. Any further concerns should be discussed with your gastroenterologist and your prescribing physician.

had 2 tiny blood clots stopped taking xarelto for a few days for colonoscopy and now my feet and ankles are swelled up , also left hand swelled . is this related to stopping xarelto ? what would cause this?

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, you may have iron deficiency which is not uncommon in women of your age due to menstrual blood loss and raises platelet counts . Take oral iron and multivitamin supplements.

DVT Treatment: Treatment of Deep Venous Thrombosis has three aims:
To stop the thrombus from breaking off and becoming a pulmonary embolus, to stop the thrombus from growing larger &amp; reduce chance of more DVT. Please call your treating MD to discuss your treatment, he may also want you to wear compression stockings but you should coordinate through your treating MD only. Good luck.

Yes but..: Treatment withr xarelto is 15 mg twice a day for 21 days then 20 mg once a day after that.. Duration depends on  several factors but most people require 3-6 month. Xarelto 15 mg once a day is used to prevent blood clots in individuals with irregular heart beats (atrial fibrillation). It is not an adequate dose for treatment of blood clots.

i broke my ankle 3 days ago and found out  blood clot in calf area from being sedentary for 3days - now on  xarelto. what else can i do to tx/prevent?

Doing right thing: You are currently doing the correct thing.  Any time you have an ankle fracture and are immobilized you are at increased risk of a blood clot.  The important thing is to diagnose the blood clot early and get on a blood thinner (which you have done).  Now you can allow your body to absorb the clot. In the future, alert providers you have a history of blood clots so you can prevent future clots.

will xarelto be affected by colace and mirilax? i have a blood clot in my lung and the pain meds are causing severe constipation?

: No. Pain medications containing opioids cause constipation. Ask your MD to try to give you an alternative. Hope you feel better
