Should be fine but..: Marijuana has many proven health benefits. I know of no evidence suggesting it would be detrimental  to smoke some 3 days before surgery. But be careful to use cannabis that isn't contaminated with pesticides,mold, heavy metals etc. Be careful re: legalities; while NY allows medical marijuana criteria are strict.

Well, your surgeon : Might not give you any pain meds if you still have any pot in your system...cause we kinda get in trouble giving pain meds to people on illegal drugs, and pot sticks around for quite a bit....so you might have a really crappy recovery--however, you need to be honest with your surgeon about the pot....good luck!  It'll be much better after they are out!

Can't know for sure: After a tonsillectomy it is not good to put any hot smoke, and that would include cigarettes or marijuana.  I have to tell you that when someone has a major piece of surgery, and their concern seems to center on when they can use drug "x" again, i get concerned that there is a drug problem, whether drug x is alcohol, marijuana or heroin. Two weeks would be reasonable, but think about it.

Not likely this far: out from the surgery, and marijuana smoke is likely not as harmful as tobacco smoke. However, marijuana itself is a problem in younger people when the brain is still developing (which it does out to about age 23). There is little evidence that occasional/recreational use causes harm, but regular and heavier use can cause learning and memory problems, and use risky in people at risk for psychosis.

Unlikely: Second hand smoke would be a very unlikely cause.  Even in smokers tonsil enlargement is usually from another cause.

Tonsils out: Medical THC does thin the blood and so potentially can promote bleeding. You just had the tonsils out and there is risk of bleeding from the bed. This risk can last from 7-10 days.  I would suggest avoid use until 7-10 days

At your own risk: There are few direct studies of such activity. Given that any smoking interferes with the rate of healing you are on your own when you smoke anything after such a procedure.

Why?: Has it changed size or shape?  How long has it been there?  Monitor for a bit if no resolution then see your doctor don't smoke if you do
