my girlfriend started bleeding from her nose and mouth today out of the blue. it lasted between 20-25 minutss. do you know why this happened?

Nose bleed: A nose bleed can cause drainage into the throat which is likely what she is experiencing.  If it stopped within 25 minutes it is most likely a normal nose bleed-anterior, and I would not be concened. If she has excessive bruising, bleeding from the gums, then some bloodwork is warranted.

Can't be sure: I suggest you try some nasal saline spray or wash, 3-4 x a day.  Nosebleeds are common, commonly worse in the winter.  NEVER pick your nose - trauma is a common cause of bleeding. Mouth bleeding is basically never normal.  My concern would be for a platelet disorder or a medication or supplement promoting bleeding.  You really should check in with your Doctor unless the bleeding stops- get well

Can be: This should be checked out by your doctor.  Wintertime air is cold and dry and dries the skin inside the nose making it easier to crack and bleed.  Most often that can be treated with moisture, like ayr nose gel applied twice a day.  A humidifier in your room or added to your furnace could help too. However, there could be other issues that should be checked out first by your physician.

Probably OK: Bleeding from the nose after tonsillectomy is probably not related to the surgery (guessing adenoidectomy was not performed).  If there is no further bleeding, would not seek treatment.  If the bleeding recurs, consider asking your ENT how to further manage the issue.

More detail: Tough to answer w/o more details. A nose bleed after a head injury is not especially unusual, and may indicate a skull fracture or CSF leak. CSF is usually thin and watery, but can be blood tinged too. If the bleeding persists beyond an hour or so, call your doc or seek out an ER.
Are there any other symptoms? If so, you might want to go sooner (bad headache, nausea, loss of consciousness...)

Not usually: While not common, it can occur especially if the upper wisdom teeth were very close to or in communication with the maxillary sinus. Treat it as any other nose bleed and if it persists contact your doctor.

had a terrible experience. did a balloon sinuplasty, and it was so painful, and doc said i was "nervous" they "numbed" my nose, but i was in serious pain. bleeding a lot too, and choking on , it had to spit. ii know this was not normal. what happend?

: Yes, all those symptoms are expected, more pain in your case because the local anesthetic did not go well.

Nose & mouth numb: Numbness and tingling in the nose and mouth are likely from something interfering with the nerve the provides sensation to the area. This can be from infection, swelling or irritation of the nerve. The nerve may be pinched or compressed by swelling in the adjacent area.
Please see you primary provider or ear nose and throat (otolaryngology) specialist for evaluation.

Sever reflux: It sounds like significant reflux.  You can try raising the head of the bed at night, and reducing acid causing foods.  I hope this helps, but i would see a gastroenterologist for evaluation.
