what could be causing this? when i stand up i get dizzy and start to black out and when my vision starts to clear, my lips and finger tips feel numb.

See your doctor: There could be many causes of these symptoms. Your blood pressure could be dropping when you get up quickly ("orthostatic changes"), your heart rate may be abnormal, or there could be other causes. Your symptoms need to be evaluated as soon as possible.  I wouldn't drive yourself anywhere until you find out what is going on...

i have had experiences in were i black out and get dizzy . is this normal. i think i have heat stroke this happens at least once every  year .

Not normal: You are describing what is called syncope. It can be caused by many conditions including heart arrhythmias, dehydration, low blood pressure, seizures or low blood sugar. Please get checked by a physician if you are having these attacks.  Heat stroke is a serious condition with elevated temperature , absent perspiration  and decreased consciousness.

whenever i take viagra (sildenafil) i start to get dizzy and black out. is this a normal side effect of this medication?

Stop taking med!: You mean this has happened more than once? And you haven't talked to your prescribing doc about this? Or sought medical attention? Sildenafil (Viagra) was originally studied as a potential treatment for high blood pressure. However, it wasn't very effective in that role but it can still cause low blood pressure &amp; even passing out especially when taken w/nitrates. Best to stop &amp; discuss w/your doc

i have several small handfuls of salt every day & my serum sodium level still is on the low side of normal or slightly below. i black out and im dizzy if i dont get that much salt and fluids. what could cause that? my cortisol level was normal

: If your kidneys are normal, salt will not elevate your blood sodium levels, assuming you're not ingesting truly giant amounts. Sodium levels in blood are primarily modified, when necessary, by increasing or decreasing fluid intake. Discuss this with your doctor. In the meantime, eating extra salt is not likely to either raise your sodium level or improve these symptoms.

Low sugar: It sounds like you may have low sugar.  You should see your doctor.

one day i didn't get the chance to eat lunch till really late that day. i felt really dizzy and i felt like i was to black out. why?

Getting hypoglycemic: When you go for too long without eating, your blood sugar levels start dropping, and you can become hypoglycemic and feel dizzy, and nauseous. So it's always good to have a small snack around that you can eat midmorning, to prevent your blood sugar level from dropping that low. Also, it's important to hydrate as well, so you don't get dehydrated too that can also make you light headed.

everytime i stand up (fast or not) i get extremely dizzy and black out for almost 8 seconds. i fell to the floor last time. should i be worried?

Yes: Fainting upon standing up in a teen age girl sounds like "orthostatic hypotension." It is a condition that you should definitely have it seen by your doctor. Your doc may need to clarify other symptoms you may be having and perform tests. The issue that first came to my mind based on your symptoms is irregular heart beat, but other conditions need to be ruled out. Please see your doctor. Cheers

See a Physician : There could be a numbers of causes and would recommend that you see a Physician ASAP as it is unusual to pass out from coughing without an underlying cause

Your symptoms: sound like you may have POSTURAL HYPOTENSION (LOW BLOOD PRESSURE)....this should be evaluated although most cases turn out to be IDIOPATHIC ( no known cause)

Hypotension: Blacking out or vision getting dim when you stand up is a drop in blood pressure called orthostatic hypotension.  It is really common in young, healthy people who have low blood pressure to start with.  Increasing fluid intake and sometimes salt intake can help, especially in the summer months when you can get dehydrated more easily.
