Tendinitis : likely inflammation of the tissue which connects the muscles to bone. You might have pulled it with your initial sneeze or cough. Other likely possibility is inflammation of the coverings of ur lungs. If you are not feeling really sick, could wait. Can take naproxen few days. Should take care of it. And hope you are not taking any birth control pills. If so should go get checked up for blood clots

Go to ER ASAP: Severe pain in the upper back and chest pain on breathing 
requires immediate attention. Several serious conditions can cause these symptoms, including pulmonary embolism(blood clot to the lung). Other less serious causes include a viral pleurisy and herniated thoracic disk, among others. Assuming this pain just started, and hasn't been present for weeks, you should go to the ER for evaluation.

So it is possible that you have costochondritis. However, chest pain, with shortness of breath, fever, palpitations, cough or skin rash would lead to different diagnosis. If persistent- good idea to see a health care provider.
