i have a (what i think is) a pilonidal cyst. it has been draining blood since wednesday after my doctor drained it in office. he got blood and pus out. when i take the gauze off and go to the bathroom it bleeds a good bit. will it be okay til i go ba?

Pilonidal cyst: You need surgical closure of pilonidal tract . Simple drainage is not a permanent solution. It will continue to get reinfected .

i have paronychia in my left index finger. it has formed an abcess and it has been lanced and i'm currently taking augmentin. a couple of hours ago it burst opened and started draining pus on its own... is this is a good sign?

Recurrent abcess: can come form the wound sealing up too soon, or from a bacteria or fungus that is not treated fully by the antibiotic. While daring pus is better than pus in a closed space that does not drain, if recurrent symptoms are occurring most would be advised to  seek additional  medical attention

Pus may be infection: Pus is formed when the body is fighting an infection. It may be a sign of a healthy immune system, ergo the term "laudable pus". Pus is full of white blood cells (which fight infection) and microorganisms causing the infection. However, when pus collects in a cavity it forms an abscess. Pus should be drained from wounds to help fight the infection and help the wound to heal normally.

No: A pus hole is usually a  carbuncle . Unfortunately it usually needs antibiotics and surgical removal.  See a doctor for  these. It does not heal up unless the entire hole/cyst is removed. Maybe you have something else that might just heal on its own. An infected cut? 
Can try first aid cream and warm compresses.

Pustule/abcess: Occasionally the oil glands or hair follicles are invaded by skin germs. Various forms of staph or strep are the most common agents. Staph more commonly stays local while strep causes redness & extends under the skin surface. A warm compress over the area increases blood flow and allows the body to heal itself sometimes, if it persists, your dr may need to open & drain it & rx meds.

Seek care: It is important to identify the infecting organism with a culture and start antibiotics.  May not have completely drained and require incision and further drainage.Warm compresses can sometimes help

How about seeking: Medical attention as depending on size they might need to be surgically drained.  When was your last tetanus shot? If you don't know or it if has been more then ten years - then get another tetanus shot at the same time.

No: Gram stain and culture has to be resulted in order to treat correctly. Some people guess based on color or smell of pus. But, this does not have accuracy.

A boil is a local: Infection.  Your doc can lance it for you and give you medicine to get rid of the infections.  Peace and good health.
