Worth following: Slight elevations of ast / alt can result from trivial / viral illnesses, taking a bit of an over-the-counter painkiller, or lots else. Your physician will probably just repeat these with you off all meds and alcohol. This would be a great time to talk with your physician about why you're taking coconut oil and what your fitness habits are like, before running more fancy labs. Good luck.

Coconut oil: I think it works well.  Coco butter and aloe vera are also good.  If you have blisters, however, it is a second degree burn. In that case you need to see a physician.

People (especially people with something to sell) can make all sorts of claims, and even present some psuedo-science research results (not real research), so one must be careful when looking at health-benefit claims.

Losing weight: The best way to keep weight (w) off is by behavior modification (b). People who lose w without b have more than a 90% chance of gaining back their lost w in 1 year. Find out what causes you to overeat and see if you can engage in activities to avoid doing so. If you can if you can do this you can not only lose w, you will be successful in keeping it off long term. Coconut oil needs b to work.

Dry skin : eczema needs hydration to prevent rashes. The heavier the moisture the better it is. The best include ointments followed by creams followed by lotions. Oils can also be hydrating including coconut oil. Best application is after bathing while you are still wet. Reapply miusturizer at least 2/day

Nuts for coconut: Coconut oil is naturally saturated and not strutted through a man-made process.  It contains medium chain fatty acids that are easily absorbed and converted to ketones - the ketones are a great source of energy for the cells of the the brain!
Coconut oil has also been fount to have some natural antibiotic activity as well.
So go ahead - go nuts for coconut!
