Haven't heard of it: Haven't heard of or seen any research studies of coconut oil being good for allergies. People (especially people with something to sell) can make all sorts of claims, and even present some psuedo-science research results (not real research), so one must be careful when looking at health-benefit claims.

No proof: It works well as a hair conditioner and as a skin moisturizer. It contains lauric acid which is antimicrobial. It is used in some cultures for wound care & for viruses. There are many other conditions that it is puported to treat that have not been scientifically demonstrated at this time (to include allergies).
