i breastfeed and bottle feed but yesterday i smoked, how will it effect my baby if i were to breast feed her?

SLight symptoms: She may be a bit jittery and may spit up a bit more, making her a bit more fussy from the nicotine exposure. That being said, breast is still the best food source for your child. Please try to decrease or stop smoking while nursing. Thanks for trying to feed your baby the best way.

Continue if possible: There are so many known health benefits of breast feeding, particularly in the first four to six months of life. If at all possible, pumping and storing breast milk is suggested. Your baby can be fed with a bottle containing the breast milk.

: There is little difference between formulas. They have been regulated in the USA by the FDA since the early 80's and all have adequate nutrient blends.If formula is your choice, find one that baby seems to digest well and thrive, without GI symptoms ant stay with it.There is enough difference between formulas that a kid may have trouble switching back and forth.

Use dad/friend: The basic issue is if he can smell you he will want "you" . If you can arrange to be away at feeding time &amp; enlist dad or a friend to do it he may choose to deal with hunger rather than persist in bottle refusal. Try this for a feeding /day &amp; over time he should eventually accept it from you. Welcome to the world of the demanding prince.

Cup: Transition her to a cup. She may not accept other nipples but you can try a variety. Generally at this age using a sippy cup works best. Hope this works.

Keep trying: You can only try. Some babies prefer the bottle since it's easier. Some prefer the breast. You can try offering the breast in the evening and in the morning, when she's most likely to want to snuggle. It also helps if you give the breast and someone else gives the bottle. Don't worry too much. If she gets some breast milk, she will still get the benefits.

Doctor can check: The doctor can check the baby to see if the baby is fine or is constipated. Some babies do not poop every day, while others are having problems and need to poop more often than that. Generally, as long as a baby is normal in eating, growth, and development; and does not have firm poop, bloating, or tummy aches; then the number of poops per day is not very important.

Pregnant?: Your period should return within six to eight weeks after you stop breastfeeding, though it can take months for it to be totally regular again. If you think you should be menstruating and you're not, give your doctor a call, but do a pregnancy test first...
