Yes: If you want to be sure, get a HIV nucleic acid test.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.  Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless.
Practice safe sex.

Both: Sores in the mouth are one of the main signs of initial HIV infection, along with flu-like symptoms (body aches, fever,  cough, etc).  But they also occur further along in the illness when the immune system becomes more suppressed.

Dry Mouth: Highly unlikely that it's hiv. Most commonly it is a side effect of other medications, such as blood pressure medication.
If you are in a high-risk group for hiv, discuss your concerns and have an overall examination with your physician.

Mouth-breather?: If you breathe through your mouth often from nasal obstruction, you often end up with a dry mouth which is not a symptom for hiv.  If this is persistent, you may need to check with your doctor to see if your nose is blocked. If you are that concerned over getting hiv, you should be more careful in selecting your partners and make sure they they wear a condom as well.

Why do you ask?: Mouth sores are common. Most people are familiar either with the herpes simplex fever blister or the annoying white canker sore in the mouth from a local vasculitis. Neither indicates hiv, though lots of troublesome canker sores warns of neutropenia, lupus, or behcet's. Other sores should be seen. If you've asked and are worried about your HIV status, you owe it to yourself to be tested.

HIV negative: Without knowing exactly what tests were run it is difficult to say for certain, but the overwhelming chance is that you are HIV negative.  The lesson is obvious.  Only protected sex and only with individuals you "know" well.  You can never be sure of honesty when it comes to sex, money, politics and life.

Not Usually, But...: Canker sores (aka: aphthous ulcers) are not associated with hiv.  Usually, aphthous ulcers begin early in life and stop occurring in the 30's; the exact etiology is unknown.  However, "aphthous-like" ulcers can be associated with auto-immune disorders, GI disorders and hiv.  If you are at risk for hiv, or just want to know more...See your dentist and/or pcp and get tested.

for the last 1 month, i consistently have up to 8 small sores (1mm) in my mouth. i have normal iron, b12 level and tests show that i don't have inflammation. i'm scared this might be hiv symptoms although i'm not exposed to it. what should i do?

Dr. can check throat: Throat symptoms can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from other causes like allergies, thrush, or irritants, etc... Usually, a person sees her primary care doctor if her throat is bothersome, or symptoms don't go away quickly. Common causes are common viruses.

: You are at little or no risk for HIV. There has never been a scientifically proved case of HIV transmitted mouth to penis. The main STIs with possible risk are gonorrhea, herpes due to HSV1, nongonococcal urethritis (NGU), and possibly syphilis. With no symptoms at 2 weeks, it is unlikely you caught gonorrhea, herpes, or NGU; and syphilis is unlikely if no penile sore (chancre) by 4 weeks.
